The Intensity that is ADAM

For this exact same post, but with our first kid, go here.

We went to Big Spoon last week and I caught a hilarious sequence of pics with our little PASSIONATE boy. He gets SO intense when it comes to food - or anything that he really, really wants in his mouth. Take a look...

"Woah, what?? This looks AWESOME."

Trying to figure out how to make my hands and arms do what I want!

So close!!!

Score!

Livy Livy Lou

I mean, look at that face. How hilarious is it! Livy has been crazy lately, but it's also been so fun seeing her catch on to things and make random connections. The best part of toddlerhood is the hilarious conversations that we get to have every day. I've started keeping track of some of them on the side bar.

Some of her favorite things to do lately include, but are not limited to:

1. Feeding her brother - oh my goodness I had to dig out ONIONS from the poor kid's mouth yesterday! She stole them when I wasn't looking and thought he might love them! I've caught her feeding him yogurt, brownies, cereal, and who knows what else! Seriously, I don't know how the second child makes it alive!
2. Washing her hands - she's OBSESSED. If I'm not paying attention - she'll spend FOREVER at the sink in her bathroom just washing her hands over and over again.
3. Locking us out - she found out how to lock the door lately. Not fun. Luckily she knows how to unlock pretty fast.
4. Doing Tricks - I can't wait until I can get her back in gymnastics. She LOVES rolling, jumping, and flipping around. Here's the evidence:

Where has my baby gone!

Adam is getting HUGE before our eyes. I mean, quite literally - he is 18 pounds already! I mean - he's only 5 lbs. away from Livy! haha It feels like it's happening so much faster than it did with Liv. So, you know the classic wounded soldier crawl that babies do before they start to do the legit crawling? Well, my kids can't do that. Instead, they choose to bunch up their bodies by bringing their legs up to their stomach and then they kind of flop the rest of their body forward. It's hilarious! Adam's becoming extremely mobile these days - I'm not sure how I feel about it!

Here he is holding his own bottle!

Here he is trying green beans for the first time. I mean, check out those moobs! Anyway, he ate them like a champ! And, why would you ever buy baby food? Making it was so freaking easy! I just bought it frozen, warmed it up, tossed them in the blender with some water (you can use breast milk or formula, too) and blended them to the right consistency and froze the left overs. Piece of cake! And WAY cheaper!

Here's Matt feeding him for probably the 2nd time in Adam's little life. Somehow, even with Livy, Matt always got out of feeding time!?!? I'm not sure how it happened, but now that he's home at night - that will no longer continue, babe! :)

Adam's our little cuddle-bug. It's awesome!

Four Freaking Years!

From this:
To this:
Here we are four years and two kids later and we couldn't be happier!

I was looking at old pictures of us and I came across this wedding book thing that we never finished, but it has the story of our beginning in it that I thought I should publish on here so we always have it. It's quite hilarious:

(Matt and I took turns writing sentences of our story. Hence the (M)'s and (A)'s...)

"(M) Matt's roommate, Jay, was good friends with Jill Catts who also happened to be friends with Alexis. (A) Matt then agreed with Jay that Jay should go after the P-Y-T. (M) As time went on, however, Alexis and Matt would occasionally hang out and play tennis together. (A) Then Matt taught Alexis what a NCMO was, however, it was never very non-committal at all. (M) It was on and off for a couple of months until one night while watching Alexis sing, Matt had an epiphany... he loved this girl. (A) Then he finally confessed his love after Alexis made him say it. Woo! (M) Yadda yadda yadda... we're married today."

Pure hilarity.

Love you, babe!

Life's Full of Tough Choices, Innn't It?

Name that movie. I apparently have been on a Disney kick lately. Anyhoo, the Wiseman family has just made a VERY, VERY hard decision - one that left me bawling all last night. We've decided to make our grand return to Utah. Just typing that almost starts the water works all over again. I guess I knew we might end up back there, but I didn't think it would be so soon. We're planning to leave the last week of September. This is how it works when Matt and I make life-changing decisions - it's always SUPER last minute. And when it's the right decision, everything seems to fall quickly into place - which has unfortunately happened now. I've been telling Matt to keep telling me the upsides to moving back. There are a lot - but I'm really REALLY going to miss everyone that we've met here. This is the first time that Matt and I have been really sad to move. But, Matt's planning to go to Physical Therapy school out in Provo, so if we want to have everything ready in order for him to make it in next fall - then we have to do this.

At least these two will get to enjoy some white Christmases, right? Downside: they'll have to witness their dad's HORRIBLE winter driving. I'm terrified for us all.

Livy told me last night that she's excited to live by her friend, Kaylee. I need to be more like Livy.

My Crazy Eaters

How awesome is the belly chub touching his legs?? This kid is almost going through an entire box of baby cereal in just a week. Livy never made it through an entire box EVER. I'm going to start making some baby food for him. I'll probably start him on veggies either this or next week. He wants to eat what we're eating SO BADLY. I feel so bad.

Adam's Favorite Foods:
  • Baby Cereal
  • Bananas
  • Popsicles
  • Anything else I'll let him taste

Livy is such a funny eater. Luckily, she'll always eat what I make - mainly because I don't give her any other options. She likes to cut up her own food now - which is super awesome. She's getting SO independent - it's awesome and super lame at the same time.

Livy's Favorite Foods:
  • Broccoli (We have to bribe her with more broccoli in order to get her to eat the rest of her food on her plate.)
  • Pasta (with marinara or alfredo sauce)
  • Oatmeal
  • Cereal
  • Pizza
  • Pancakes
Even though it's messy, I'm really glad my kids will eat anything.

When You're the Best of Friends...

...you fight with each other, play with each other, annoy each other, hug each other, and even teach each other how to poop in the potty!

BFFs = Liv + Cos

Here they are celebrating with cookies after both pooping in the potty. It was so hilarious - Livy showed Cos how she poops in the potty and then when it was Cosette's turn - Livy said, "Okay Cos - just go like this (then some serious grunting noise)." It was the funniest thing I've ever seen. But it helped - a couple minutes later - Cos pooped in the potty! "And that's what frieeeeeeeeeeeends are for!" Name the movie. (Hint: it's being sung by vultures. And a tiger, too, I guess.)

Here they are teaching each other how to hold their little brothers. Poor boys.

Here are a couple BFFs in the making. And they are even wearing unintentional matching outfits. I mean seriously, look at those legs. Even though Rawson is only 2 months younger - he's almost the same size - minus the GINORMOUS legs!

Little Randoms:

I thought this was super cute until I realized she was licking the window...

It's funny how you get to know what your kids are thinking just by their facial expressions. For example, this face says: "What? I didn't just do anything naughty."

"Why won't you come off, sock!!!"

"I love my mommy!"

"I really want to put that camera in my mouth!!!"

Family Pics

We're in Tahoe for the annual Wiseman family vacation. Today we took some family pics that turned out super cute!

Livy and Adam happened to be matching Aunt Amy. And together they made the cutest picture ever!

This one was from the beach earlier today. It just happens to be the best picture ever.

Couponing 101

I titled this Couponing 101 because that's about as much as I know right now - the basics. I'm getting the hang of it, but I'm still figuring things out! But some of you have asked for some tips. I can take no credit for the deals I find - they're all online. They make it SO easy. They show you the deal, what coupons you need, and how to score it all for almost free. They also show deals nationwide. There are 3 websites that I check out at least once a day:

thekrazycouponlady.com

hip2save.com

myfrugaladventures.com (local for the Sacramento area)

Couponing is all about getting the best deal. Your goal is to try to use a store coupon with a manufacture's on top of a great deal that a store is having. So you plan on scoring stuff for almost free. Once you get the hang of it, it really doesn't take a long time. Your trips to the store are quick because you know exactly what you're getting.

Expect to be scoring most of your toiletries for FREE. Diapers have been RIDICULOUSLY CHEAP. And once you start making money off of buying groceries - you then use that money to pay for your weekly items like bread, eggs, milk, etc.

KrazyCouponLady: This site showed me how to start out. Go there and go to the section for Beginners. It teaches you all about coupons, the lingo, how to organize your binder (which will be ridiculously huge and insane), and tons of other great stuff. They have a book, too. Their website has all of the same information as well.

Besides that, there's not a whole lot I can say. But once you start getting the hang of it - you can expect to become a bit obsessed at first. Once you go to the store and save over 70% on what you're buying - you'll experience the "coupon high." It's addicting - so be careful!

My name is Adam and I am a Never-Nude*

How hysterical are the new Huggies jean diapers??? In my defense - they were SUPER CHEAP. Anyhoo, now Adam looks like a little Tobias-in-the-making. But on the other hand - these offer endless entertainment!

*If this post makes NO SENSE to you - you need to become familiar with Arrested Development. It will make this the funniest post you've ever read.

Uncle Drewbee's Getting Married!

I don't know how he did it, but somehow a super cute girl (Megan) has agreed to marry my brother! He officially proposed last night and we're so freaking excited! Their wedding is already set for October in the Salt Lake Temple. Funny side story: Livy was refusing to learn Megan's name when we were in Utah visiting them. Every time we'd ask her who Megan was - she would slyly change the topic. It was hilarious. Anywho, yesterday when Liv was blessing the food, she said: "Please bless the food. Please bless Mommy and Daddy and Adam and Drew and Megan..." Success!!! Megan has finally gotten the blessing from the most important family member in the Baumgartner clan. :)

In the Wiseman Household - We Bleed Blue!

Or maybe we salivate blue??? Livy was chomping on some sweet pretzel m&m's (that way over-do it on the blue dye) and then she saw her blue tongue and I had to take a picture.

She was LOVING it.

Anywho, we've been enjoying some lazy days lately (as in we're all in pajamas until the late afternoon - WE'RE NOT ASHAMED!). Matt's waiting to start his next job and we're getting ready for a family trip to Tahoe so we've been able to just hang out which has been nice since we endured some pretty crazy weeks at the beginning of the month. Here's what a little bit of "lately" has looked like for us:

Of course, Matt had to document his proudest moment.

Latest hilarious conversation with this girl:

Mommy: Livy chew your food or you're going to choke on it and die.
Livy: I not want to die!
Mommy: Okay, then start chewing.
Livy: No, Mom! I don't want to die! And you not want to die. And Daddy not want to die.

I guess watching March of the Penguins last week has really affected this girl.

Adam has become a thrill-seeker! As long as Daddy's balancing him or throwing him up in the air - he's happy.

Livy's been learning some sweet tricks from her cousins.

And Adam is chomping on anything he can get near his mouth. And he's a strong biter! "Is he teething?" you might ask??? Yeah right. Apparently, my kids can't grow teeth. The same thing happened with Livy at his age - we were CONVINCED she was teething for like 7 months. Not one tooth until 12 months! And she still doesn't have all of her teeth.

And what have I been up to???

All of this was $16 on $99 worth of stuff. PLUS I'll get 2 free movie tickets!!!! BOO YA!!!! And yes - both views are necessary! haha I love my coupons.

My Crazy Kid

Livy is so funny lately. We've been having hilarious little conversations, but I always forget right afterward. So I decided to post the latest one before I forget:

Livy: (Completely out of nowhere while we were driving home) Mommy, you're my best friend.
Mommy: Oh Liv! You're my best friend, too!
Livy: No, mom. You're MY best friend!
Mommy: Okay, Liv, whatever. Is Daddy your best friend, too?
Livy: (Starts laughing) No, Mommy! Daddy a boy!

Ha! How does she already think that way?? It was so funny.

Another little funny:

Livy: (While looking at me writing this post and looking at her picture) Oh, Mom! Look at me! I doing tricks!

She LOVES doing "tricks" lately. I need to get this girl back in gymnastics.

Serious Updates Heading Your Way!

The Wisemans have been MIA for the last few weeks (as has my sanity). Anywho, I'm finally updating our lives on here! So get ready for a post overload! I'll be putting them in chronological order - so start at the bottom at Six Flags!
