Happy Birthday to Me!

(The title is an Emperor's New Groove quote fyi...)

I turned a quarter of a century old today! Weird. I'm a legit adult now! Because 3 kids doesn't really make you legit - turning 25 does... :) Matt made sure it was the best day ever! He surprised me by taking the day off and then we did whatever I wanted to all day. It was a perfect day.

He even surprised me with this awesome strawberry shortcake from Kneaders!

Best day ever!!!

Valentine's Day Extravaganza

Somehow our holidays keep turning out to be EXTREME - hence all of the extravaganza posts... Anyhoo -  our Valentine's celebrations were exciting!

Extravaganza #1 - Making Valentines and Goodies:

We made these for both grandmas. Livy LOVED the sparkliness of the cupcake!

Here are Liv's valentines for her first party with her preschool friends. She loved helping make these!

Here are Livy's and Adams's valentines for our neighborhood party.

On Valentine's Day - I woke up at 6 AM to make 100+ sugar cookies for a little party we were having later. I love procrastinating. I meant to do this Sunday - then Monday - then it was Tuesday!!!

 Extravaganza #2 - Valentine's Celebrations

We started the night before by going to Baskin Robbins to enjoy the gifts cards the kids got from Grandma Sherrie. They were so excited to get ice cream. Also, we realized that the last time we were at Baskin Robbins was the night before we had Adam with Livy and Nana. Weird. Anyway...

You would think this was a great outing for everyone. However, No-Nap-Livy-Lou had a melt down about 5 seconds after these pics were taken when Sticky-Fingers-Adam tried to steal some of her gum pieces. She was quickly escorted out of the establishment and then continued to throw one of the most intense tantrums that 2012 has ever seen...

The next morning the kids woke up to their surprises:

(Are these 18 month size pajamas? Yes - and they recently became her favorite. I keep trying to convince her to give them to Embry...)

Here's the surprise to Daddy from the kids that he opened before leaving for work super early. Reese's hearts and a huge pack of zipfizz to help him stay awake on the way to work!

Here they are in their Valentines outfits. Livy was inspired to wear every article of clothing she had that has hearts on it. Hearts on her shirt, pants (the little buttons), socks, shoes, jacket, and even backpack! She was so excited for her school party!

Matt was so awesome. He got home early to give me my new snoogle and a caramel apple (best presents ever) and then came to the little neighborhood party knowing he would be the only guy and even helped clean up afterward! B.H.E. Award! I totally forgot to take pics of the fun party with our neighbors - there were so many kids! Everyone got way too much sugar :)

After the party, here's how the sugar rush went down:

We were all spent and now we are all detoxing off of sugar - it's been a ... fun (?) day.

Aquarium! Take 2

I have some awesome neighbors who get just as stir crazy as the kids and I do so we planned a little field trip to the Aquarium. Luckily, we ended up running into even more friends there AND we even ran into Liv's old swim teacher, Brinley! She was so excited!

 Dying to see the penguins!

Snack break eating fishies

Goofy face!

OTTERS! The reason we were so excited to go to the aquarium!

Here are the ottters. The kids were so excited to see them! They are cool but kind of freaked me out. They're like giant rodents who swim really well - creepy!!!

Potty Training! -The Adam Edition-

It's that... "special" time again where I turn into a crazy person and decide to potty train a toddler who isn't even 2 yet. This is my second time around - but having it be a boy this time is quite the game changer! I finally decided to do this after Adam told Matt before his nap yesterday that he had to poop and then went straight to the potty and pooped! It was amazing! And I don't want to go through the whole fear of pooping thing again so I decided to be hard core and start now.

Anyway, we went and bought the boy underwear last night with balls on it, of course. And we bought him a big thing of gum because he will literally do anything for gum. We took off his diaper this morning and I thought we would go through a couple accidents. Well the complete opposite has happened. He won't stop peeing on the potty! He has totally found a way to work the system! He keeps peeing little by little so he can get the maximum amount of gum! I think we have an evil genius on our hands!
But he really is doing awesome! No accidents - I've even put underwear on him which I don't normally do the first day and he took it off and started peeing on his potty! Let's hope the next couple days go as smoothly!

Sassy Sayings...

Livy has quite the wit on her. She is quick with her little responses and usually she doesn't mean them to sound obnoxious - but they sure are! I mean - Matt and I are nothing like that so I have no idea where she gets it from...

Here is her latest bit of sassiness:

The other day Liv was spinning around and around in the kitchen.
Matt: Livy, stop it, you're going to hurt yourself or get sick.
Livy: Why? I bet you did this when you were a little kid. (As she keeps spinning over and over)
Matt: Touche.

Also, her two favorite sayings are:

"K. Fine!"
"Whatever!"

(So annoying! But we still love her :))

Random Liviness:

One Sunday, Livy let me play with her hair while I was super bored...

Ready for her field trip in the new outfit Aunt Andrea got her. She was so excited to wear this ensemble along with her Subway purse she got :)

Random February

First couple weeks of Feb through random pics...

They never watch T.V. this intently

Going up for family naptime. These two are so obsessed with their Daddy - they both have meltdowns when they don't see him in the morning when he works early. It's so cute to watch them run to him and scream when he gets home! Enjoy it now kids - soon he'll be in school and we'll never see him again...

Loving his new puffy vest he inherited

 Dealing with more sleeping issues

 Playing nice with each other...

...closely followed by being put in time out for being mean to each other.

This is the entire room of furniture that I rearranged myself - Matt was not too happy with his pregnant wife pushing around super heavy dressers. I was impressed with myself.

And Liv reuniting with her BFF, Cos. I love seeing our friends when we visit CA but then the drive home is super depressing! Liv and Cos were so cute together, though!
