Who did the Easter Bunny kill?

Matt was trying to teach Liv what Easter is really about - our Savior died for us and then came back to life so that we can do the same and return to our Heavenly Father. Well, Liv sat for a second and thought and then asked Matt:

"So did the Easter bunny kill Jesus?"

I laughed SO HARD when I heard that. Then he explained, yes - Easter is the most ridiculous holiday. Not only do we celebrate the Atonement with a giant bunny - but that bunny leaves eggs for us. (???) Haha it was funny.

She looked so cute today at church - minus the blue mouth from the ring pop. :) Her spiritual gift this Easter was a teeny Book of Mormon with her name printed on it and a little pink case to hold it. She was so excited! She even told us right when she saw it that it said Alivia Wiseman. We were impressed.

Today at church I had the opportunity to teach the lesson to all of the women in our church about the Atonement covering all of our pain. While I was researching, I came across this video that is AWESOME! It's applicable to any Christian faith:

Easter Morning Fun

Livy was SO excited about the Easter Bunny this year and didn't cry at night like she did with Santa :) Instead of baskets this year, we found these ginormous eggs and thought it would be awesome to do a sweet Easter egg hunt in the morning. So from their room, there was a trail of teeny eggs leading to 3 different hiding places of huge eggs. Liv was so excited! Adam was just happy to hear the teeny eggs rattle.

I guess I should have gotten baskets for the eggs they found.

Next biggest egg. Adam was so excited! He picked up this egg and started turning in circles like a puppy. It was hilarious.

He also popped open some of the teeny eggs and downed a ton of candy until we finally caught him.

It's not a holiday morning unless someone's throwing a tantrum :) So mad that I took away the candy. He refused to come downstairs with us.

Last GINORMOUS eggs! Isn't it the most hilarious thing ever?

I found out I'm not the only one who can get my dad to get me whatever I want - Alivia has learned the trade well. At costco yesterday she kept telling Grandpa how much she wanted the 53 inch teddy bear... guess who gave in RIGHT AFTER we left the store without having bought the bear?

Adam's newest favorite present. He's been attached to this all day. Matt's excited for all of the father bonding time it will bring them...

Livy's best little friend, Cos, sent her the coolest present EVER! All girly stuff and even the fake little nails in the top picture. Every time Liv pulled another part of the present out she would scream with excitement!

One can't be happy without the other being completely upset...

Cheap Easter Fun

On Friday, I promised the kids we would be able to color eggs. Once little Jake came over that morning I totally forgot to go get those little egg dying kits so I just looked up how to do it on the internet. I'm so dumb. Of course, it was the easiest thing ever. Just water, vinegar, and food coloring! Then I just got some stickers out to decorate and they had a total blast!

Luckily, Adam slept through the whole setup part. He joined us as we were decorating the dyed eggs. Also, he learned how to climb up the chairs... yay.

Hairy Adventures

So, Matt and I were bored one Saturday and somehow that turned into cutting everyone's hair off. Livy had her first haircut. It was so cute. Here's the before pic:

We just drove up to some cheap place and had them chop it off. Unfortunately we got the most unfriendly old lady (lame!) but she was excited. I, of course, had to explain that her hair wasn't going to turn brown which was disappointing to her, but she was fine.

Later that day I told Matt he had to shave off his beard and instead that turned into buzzing his head on a ZERO.Thanks, Babe.

Adam was next. The poor kid looks sickly with no hair.

I think this will be our summertime tradition. Now we just really REALLY need summer to show up!

Adam's First Surgery...

...I guess it's his second. Does circumcision count? This kid has had a rough start in life.

ANYHOO, this is what our boy has looked like lately:

He's been SO ornery and so hard to deal with, lately. He's been throwing tantrum after tantrum which started out as funny, but has turned VERY un-funny. So we went to see if he had yet another ear infection - which he did - another DOUBLE one - second double ear infection in a month! So we were referred to Dr. Heras, an ENT. She is AWESOME! She explained the dangers of not getting tubes in his ears and we, of course, decided to do it so that this kid could be happy once again! (and his mommy)

So here we are in the car ride the morning of. We were both out of it. His surgery was scheduled for 7:15 but we had to be there at 6:30! I didn't sleep all night - I was so nervous. I did NOT like the thought of my baby being put under and me not allowed to be there with him when it happens. I like how it looks like he was super into watching Despicable Me.

Here we are waiting to go back for the surgery. A little friend let him play with cars while we waited. He actually wasn't happy during this time like this pic would lead you to believe. He wasn't allowed to eat or drink ANYTHING after midnight so he kept seeing his sippy in my purse and would get super mad when he wasn't allowed to have anything.

Here's our little guy sitting waiting to go back with the anesthesiologist. He was playing this animals memory game while we waited. He had to change his shirt for some reason. The hardest moment ever was handing him over to the anesthesiologist and watching him walk away. I almost lost it - but I kept myself from crying! Adam, however, had no problem. He was even hugging the guy while he went back! I have a feeling this is foreshadowing the future. Adam embracing moving on - and me being a crazy mom. I'm working on it!

So then, they sent me to another room to wait for him and even brought me an apple juice. The procedure only took like 8 minutes. They put a mask on him and then I believe there was talk of an IV but I don't like thinking about it. Before they brought him back to me, Dr. Heras came to talk to me. She said that when they went in the left ear, they found a ton of puss. Which is so dumb because less than a week ago he was on antibiotics! But she said he should be feeling A LOT better now. Thank goodness!

Then the nurse brought him to me. This is the part I feared the most because everyone was warning me what a little psycho he'd be - and it was worse than I imagined! My doctor said to expect an "autistic frankenstein." He was so out of it - he had no idea what was going on. It was so sad! The nurse said he would be better at coming out of it at home, so we took off and let me tell you how fun it was attempting to get him in his car seat. He was flinging himself around trying to commit suicide the entire time.

Here he is after I managed to strap him in. After 15 minutes of screaming I remembered that I brought a secret weapon - red vines! You can tell he's still kind of out of it in this pic.

Then for the next hour, he would randomly start completely crying and then immediately calm down. After his nap he finally snapped out of it. He's so happy now! Hopefully, he feels so much better - poor little dude.

3rd Birthday EXTRAVAGANZA

Livy's birthday has been celebrated numerous times over the last couple of weeks, so I feel like my baby has been three for a while now :) But I still can't believe she's 3. I mean really she acts like she's 13 due to her new love of talking back to Matt and me. I'm terrified of what the actual age 13 will bring... Anyway, this girl has been SERIOUSLY spoiled by our family. Her favorite gifts so far are the numerous shopping trips she's gone on - two with my mom and one with her Aunt Donnie and Uncle Ben :)

Today, she woke up exclaiming, "It's my birthday! It's my birthday!" Then, throughout the day she kept asking if it was still her birthday... Here's how we celebrated:

Matt and I aren't sure how we're going to top these decorations next year. The ceiling looks AMAZING.

Matt blew all of these up himself. His cheeks felt awesome afterward.

Here are her presents waiting for her. Nana got her the Rapunzel dress that she LOVES. And I forgot to buy wrapping paper so her presents went in the Rapunzel bag.

We got her a boy barbie because she's been having her girl barbies kiss... Now they have Prince Charming to smooch :)

We also got a ton of cheap princess jewelry that she loved. Thank you, Walmart.

While we were gone, Daddy surprised her with a new fish! She named him Pascal, of course.

She and Adam are super excited about Pascal. Oh and she's wearing birthday pajamas that she got while on a shopping trip with Aunt Donnie...

Even though our little girl is a bit intense at times - she still has her super sweet moments! Before she went to bed tonight she told Matt, "Thanks for my birthday!"

We love you so much Livy Lou! You're the best girl ever :)

Celebration from earlier:

A couple weeks ago, we celebrated her birthday with her Wiseman cousins because Grandma Sherrie was in town and we thought it would be easier to celebrate Livy and Aidan's birthday together. We went bowling and Livy LOVED it!

She seriously beat everyone she played with. I think she got the highest score among all of the little kids :)

For this celebration, we gave her her new swimming outfit for the summer. She demanded to wear the swimsuit all night and the next day after, of course. We had to plan outfits around the swimsuit.

Grandma Sherrie made the kids some cute towels for their birthdays and gave them awesome little books that they love!

After the celebration with Matt's family, we came home and Drew and Megan let her open their present to her even though it was a little early. And of course - it was the best present ever: another Rapunzel swimsuit and matching sunglasses.
