Babysitting in good old CO

I use the babysitting term lightly because my baby brother is 12 and besides having to tell the little butthead to brush his teeth in the morning, he can pretty much take care of himself. So basically, it was me and Livy staring at each other all day long saying "What d'you do want to do?" "I don't know, what d'you want to do?" (Jungle Book reference, the vultures, it's hilarious if you know what I'm talking about...)

Here's Livy with Ky. She bonded with him during that week. When he would come home from school, she would get so excited! I guess he made up for Matt being gone. Everytime we got on iChat to talk to him, she would try to reach through the computer to him.

I did learn some things about the grasp that Livers has on the English language. Apparenly, we haven't been teaching her what the word NO actually means.

For example...

I said: "Livy, don't touch those diapers."Livy's translation: "Take down all of the diapers and start chewing on them."

I said: "Livy, don't go up those stairs."Livy's translation: "Climb up all of the stairs and look back at me to make sure I'm watching you deliberately disobeying me."

Also, while we were there, my mom handed me this big bag of awesome bows that this person in her ward randomly made me. They were so freaking cute! Here's some pigtail awesomeness. The green ones I made, but the red ones the other lady made.

Just stuffing my wedding ring into her mouth... no biggie.

Here's another trick Livy picked up while I wasn't watching. She then got up and tried to climb up on the top level. Oh dear.

Looking for a place to live and a job...

Matt and I went out to CA looking for some basic necessities, an apartment, a job, no biggie. We stayed with Matt's brother, Luke. Livers had so much fun with her cousins. She loves them. Here's Cal. This kid is famous for slyly asking "What's this?" while picking up any random electronic device. That's his way in. It's so funny. Any time Matt was there, he would immediately ask to play "Penguins" on his iphone. He ended up teaching Matt how to play that game...

Here's Gabrielle. Livy loves playing with her. It's so cute. After we had been out one day looking at places, we came back to Luke's and Gabrielle told Andrea that she thinks that Livy really missed her that day. It was true.

Livy, who's your favorite cousin??

Also, while we were there, Livy freaking pulled a laptop on top of herself. Luckily, this was the only battle wound. This kid freaking climbs up and gets into everything!!!
And we finally caught her weird OHHHHH thing on camera. It's so funny. She says the word Oh and holds it out for a really long time while using a weird smoker voice. So freaking hilarious.

Where in the world are the Wisemans!?!

Okay so we got home Monday night around 11 from Mississippi. Then we took off to Sacramento on Tuesday morning. What!?!? I know, I still can't believe we did it. But we made it! All thanks to this...A forward facing car seat! I know she's suppose to be one, but she weighs 20 pounds and we were not about to make the 10 hour drive twice without this! It was awesome. She loved it.

So now we're in CA checking out apartments and Matt's going to job interviews and whatnot. Next week I'll be in Denver and then the week after that we'll be packing up all of our crap and making the final move. AHHHHH!!! We're stoked, though. We're just not too stoked about an 8 hour drive and then another 10 hour drive with Livy... Bleh!

Fun in Mississippi

Get ready for the longest post ever... So the Wisemans have been freaking all over the country this past week. First, we went to Mississippi to see Matt's best friend, Jefferson, graduate from fighter pilot training in the Air Force. Woo! Spending time with his family was awesome. They were amazing hosts.

Getting there, however, was not so cool. We had to leave on Thursday morning from our house at like 4:45. Then we went from Salt Lake to Atlanta, had a three hour layover and then finally got to Mississippi. This plane ride was a GAZILLION times better than going to Hawaii when she was 2 months. I was pleasantly surprised.

Now, the window can actually keep this kid entertained. Yes!

Excuse me, what did I do to deserve this look??? Just went through 11 hours of labor for you, no biggie.

Also, the Delta worker saw that we had Livers and changed our seats so that we had an entire row. It was awesome!

Waiting to get on the plane after our three hour layover. Let us on!!!

Here are some of Livy's newest best friends:

This is Leah. It was so funny to watch her play with Livy. She was constantly telling Livy no. It was hilarious.

Here's Hinckley, Livy's arranged husband. They had a lot of fun together.

And here's what they did for fun:

MUST WATCH NEMO.

These two look like they've never seen Nemo before when in reality they have both seen it about a hundred times.

Livy's new favorite toy ever. Hinckley pushed her around everywhere. It was super cute.

Here's what happened on graduation day:

Here's the Jefferson Page crew at the graduation. We filled an entire row perfectly.

Eagle! (Scrubs reference) Anywho, Jeff was quite the award winner! Congrats! Which meant he got to get up and do the awkward pose for pictures thing MANY TIMES! Hooray for awkwardness!

Livy is proud to be an American! Coincidentally, that is Jeff's favorite song.

Picking up the tiniest spec she can find on the floor. This is my new favorite thing...

When you're the best of friends...

Are these looks for real!?! Oh man, I can see the future when I see these faces. I'm screwed.

After the graduation, we went to check out some cool planes. Matt and Livy actually went inside some of them.

I just like how much Matt is enjoying Jeff's story.

Here I am ROCKING at the flight simulator! I totally beat Matt at landing. It doesn't matter that he wasn't able to attempt landing, I would've beat him anyway.

Then we went to a banquet that night. Here's the handsome couple there. Courtney's siblings were nice enough to watch Livy while we went. It was tons of fun, especially once they let us eat! Woo!

Also, we were known as the Wismans at the banquet...

...we were pretty upset about it.

Here we are on the way home. It was my first time stepping onto a plane like this! I was excited. Of course it wasn't just a straight shot to Salt Lake again. First we went to Cincinatti (way stupid) and then from there to Salt Lake. We had so much fun in Mississippi! We were so happy to have been able to go and spend time with friends. Thanks guys for everything!

Here's a random pic we took of Livy. So freakin cute.

Bows/Constipation Party

Okay so I wanted to blog about what happened to today so I never forget...

-- WARNING: Graphic Content --

So my friend Carly agreed to teach me how to make bows today. So Livy and I headed over there and had some fun starting on our bows. I was a bit distracted at first because Livers was still battling constipation (sadness - we were bawling together this morning because it's so freaking painful for the little one). So as I'm trying to learn this awesome new trick, Livy would freak out every 20 minutes trying to get that little rock hard poop out of her little bum. Then our friend Shara came by with her two little girls. So we were all sitting there discussing politics, of course, and then Livers had another poop episode and that's when it got crazy...

So I took off her diaper and I could see the poop in her little bum but it was just too hard to get through. So Carly got her GINORMOUS first aid kit out (jealous!) and handed me various instruments to get this thing out of her. So as I began to dig this thing out of her, Carly held the poor girl down so I could get it. So picture this - it was so crazy - Livy was screaming (with good reason), I was digging out poop with a Q-tip, Carly was trying to calm Alivia down, and Shara was offering her support from the sidelines. MAYHEM. But then, finally, I got it all out! Poop was everywhere, Livy was in tears, and the rest of us were shocked at what just happened. Man, motherhood - it's pretty insane.

After that, Livy was able to fall right to sleep and finally relax and she hasn't stopped pooping since! Yay!!!

So thank you Shara and especially Carly for holding my kid down! I don't think we ever guessed that THIS is part of what friends are for... It makes me sad to know that I'm leaving behind this kind of support! Well, at least we'll have blogs!

Here are the "Andie Bows" that I came away with. So obviously, the bottom two green wussy ones were created entirely by yours truly... Then the red and pink ones I started but now they look good because the master finished them. And then the white and silver ones were entirely created by the bow genius who I think should sell her bows and make some mula!

Here's Livers post traumatizing experience. She's so happy now that she can poo freely. The butt is still a little bit under construction.

And I know I'm a little biased, but this is the freakin cutest kid ever!

Bleh!

That is how I'm feeling. I'm sick of packing and just sick, apparently. I woke up with a stuffy nose, and now my M's sound like B's - bleh! Anywho - here are some pics as of late.

Here's our first official packed box. There's nothing else to report besides the massive amount of packing that has been going on around here. Also, we've been getting our boxes from Famous Footwear! Just a thought in case you're ever going through the crappiness that is moving!

Livy now has hair long enough to put into little ponytails. One morning, I made her sit still long enough for me to put pigtails in her hair. She looks like a little who from whoville.

The cute aftermath of the pigtails.

So we've been trying to get Livers to EAT and it hasn't been going so well. So we started rewarding her every time she opens her mouth willingly, by clapping and saying yay! She's improved, but she still has a long way to go!

I'd love to say she's loving her veggies right now... but any of you that know Livers, knows that that just isn't true! We can pretend, though.

Livy's started to love books lately, it's so cute.

This to me says, "Why, Mommy, why!!!"

Here's all of Livy's toys that she has... oh and a nude little Livy. I was letting her butt dry.

This innocent little face proceeded from her toys to the stairs, pulled down my shoe from the second stair up, and then began to pee on it... WHAT!?! She plotted.

This one's just cute.

9 Freaking Months Old

My baby turned nine-months-old last Friday. She's getting so big I can't believe it!! It's crazy to me that she will be 12 months in such a short amount of time - ah! I'll become one of those ladies that tells all of the first time moms, "Enjoy it, it goes by so fast." To which I would reply in my head, "Yeah yeah ya old bird." Haha Anyway, we saw Dr. Nielson today and he informed us that Livy is not anemic - woo! He also gave us these stats:

Height: 27.25 inches (34%)
Weight: 18.8 lbs. (44%)
Head Cir.: 17.75 in. (80%)

So last time we went, she was in the 80th percentile for each category. So apparently, she has shrunk, big time. I think the weight is a little off due to the fact that she hasn't stopped pooping since Saturday. And the height one - does that really surprise anyone? We all know she's going to be a shorty. But anyway, the dr. told me I should start feeding her more. Little does he know that this one is the human vacuum. She's eating constantly! And when I'm not feeding her - she's eating weird things from off of the ground!

I'm going to miss going to this doctor's office. The nurses are very good at shots. Livy has never cried there. Also, the nurses always use some odd simile when they first see Livy. Our first visit, they said she looked like a cartoon baby (?). Then they said she looked like the gerber baby. Today, they said she looked just like a porcelain doll. Also, this 60ish-year-old nurse told me her little cheetah print shoes were hott. Oh yeah, hilarious!

Here she is playing in her playpen. Lately, she tries climbing up the walls of this thing and gets pretty far before she falls back flat on her back. She's INTENSE!

After a while, she figures out that we put her there to contain her...
