To Grandmother's House We Go!

Our Easter weekend plans kept changing and then at the last minute, Matt decided that we should take an extended weekend trip to CO since my parents are moving soon and this will be our last chance. I'm so glad he thought of that and was able to get work off so we could be out there for the last time ever! I love visiting my parents' house especially because the second my kids wake up in the morning - they run to Pata and Nana instead of Mommy and Daddy. :)

The first night there - he refused to go to bed until he could hold Uncle Ky's bball signed by Jimmer. Uncle Ky wasn't too happy about this picture in the morning - which is why I took it. :) What kind of big sister would I be if I didn't still mess with him??

The weather was AWESOME the whole time we were there. I love the contrast in outfits here. Adam is in shorts and a T-shirt with flip flops and my mom is in her winter coat. She was meant to live in St. George. :)

 Adam was LOVING ping pong.

We took our van most of the time because it fit all of us. Adam was always adamant that my dad sit next to him every time. Here they are holding hands. He was really attached to Pata this trip.

When Matt and I were out and about, we randomly ran into the Mystery Machine! Random.

Livy LOVED the jeep! I love how grown up she thinks she is in this car. They loved taking a very slow drive around the block. :)

Singing time with Nana!

While we took Liv to a movie for her bday - Pata and Adam got to spend more quality time together. And my dad had fun making Adam look ridiculous just like he did with my younger brother 20 years ago...

My dad learned quickly that this kid will do anything when bribed with nerds.

He fell asleep in the hallway most nights - such a punk

Here we are outside of our CO home. I can't believe they won't live there anymore. It's so crazy!

Livy Lou's Big Birthday Haircut!

So Liv wanted her hair chopped off for her birthday. Being a victim of forced polygamist long hair my whole childhood, I promised myself I would always let my kids do whatever they want with their hair. So I agreed to the cut even though her long hair was so beautiful! It made me so sad to see it go!

We set up the appointment with my neighbor, Heidi, and the day before going into the salon - Liv had a chat with her so that Heidi knew exactly what she wanted. The conversation went like this...

Liv: I want my hair cut to my shoulders and I want bangs!
Heidi: Actually, we can't do bangs because of your two cowlicks at the center of your forehead. But we could do layers?
Liv: Okay I want my hair cut to my shoulders with layers and a pink feather!
Me: ???

How did this kid even know that feathers were a possibility to put in hair!?! And, of course, she wants a pink one! Heidi thought it was awesome and even put one in her daughter's hair as well. Now all of our neighborhood girls want a pink feather in their hair - hilarious!

It was so long!

She thought this was the most hilarious part.

She felt so big getting her hair done!

Ta daaa!

And there's the sweet feather! Also, her sassy new look has given her even more of a sassy attitude - who knew that was possible! Seriously, can anyone tell me how to survive teenagers???

Fun on the Farm!

Liv and Jake had a field trip today at Thanksgiving Point at their farm. All three kids were so happy! They ran around like CRAZY, rode ponies, and enjoyed a wagon ride. They were so exhausted on the way home - my favorite! :)

Adam and Liv had to keep waiting to ride the ponies. I love Adam's little face in this one. He was so desperate to get on that pony.

Then he was terrified when I took him in to see the pony. I was a harsh mom and just plopped him right on there despite his fears. He immediately got so excited the second he sat on the pony! He's so funny!

Liv was so excited she got on the girl pony.

Wagon ride with the school friends!

Livy Louly

This little girl is growing up TOO fast!!! I can't believe she'll be 4 in one week! I decided to take her pics a little early because she wants to chop off her hair for her birthday. She later told me that she wants to chop it off so I can't do anything to it anymore... Who knew so much attitude could be crammed into that tiny little body!

Hilarious Conversations:

Me: How about we have some snuggle time after dad puts you in bed tonight?
Liv: Dad? Wait, who's dad? You mean Matt?

Me: Liv, does that blow your mind?
Liv: That blows my mind perfectly.

Liv: Mom! I'm so thirsty I'm going to die!!! (And then she threw herself on the ground dramatically)
Me: Really, Livy? Death? You're going to die and never wake up again?
Liv: No, Mom! I'm going to wake up after I die like Jesus!

(Liv lied twice to me about eating her lunch while she was downstairs so I made her go pull it out of the garbage and eat it. Now it sounds a little harsh, but that the time it seemed deserving. Anyway, she came back up a third time.)
Me: Liv, did you eat your sandwich?
Liv: Yes.
Me: If I go downstairs and it's in the garbage, Grandma Sherrie won't come over. I'm going downstairs to look.
Liv: (Looked at me for a second) Congratulations! Go look in the garbage!

(Adam was playing with a water bottle in the car next to Liv.)
Liv: Adam, don't be that guy and throw the water!

(I had just hung up the phone with my dad.)
Liv: I wanted to talk to Daddy!
Me: It wasn't Daddy, it was my dad.
Liv: I want to talk to Pata!
Me: He had to go, you can call him back later.
Liv: Did he say that for real, Mom? Did he say I could call him? Are you telling the truth?

One day at church during Sacrament - the quietest part of church - I told Livy she couldn't do something and she immediately started to freak out! I was completely taken back, but Matt was quick to grab her and take her outside. While outside - demons continued to take over her body and she wouldn't calm down. Then, Matt said at one point she got so mad she started to put her hands around his neck and try to choke him!!!! WHAT!?!?! 1- How does she even know to choke someone!!! And 2- How can demons even take over your body while at CHURCH!!!

Later that night at dinner I asked Alivia what happened at church when she started throwing a tantrum. I did my best to hold back laughing while asking her if she tried to choke her father. (It was hard.) She was totally surprised that I had found out about it. I keep trying to tell her that mommies are magical and know EVERYTHING. It scares/excites her.

Even though her sass terrifies us sometimes, she is also SUPER sweet a lot! She's very aware of how I'm doing with the baby in my tummy. She is very loving. She's also really observant which I need to be better about what I do and say around her. She's quick to point out if you break any of the rules. She's just so smart - I constantly forget she's only 3 - almost 4. The future with her scares/excites me!

End of March Madness

Thanks to my phone - my random picture blog posts are never ending! Here's what the last couple weeks of March looked like with our familia...

One day I needed a quick way to distract the boy so I did this to him and showed him my eyeball. Now he has to show everyone his eyeball...

I've reached the last part of my pregnancy which means the T.V. is now responsible for raising my kids... They also love to all lay on me in the most comfortable way - but it is fun cuddling with both of them! I can't believe I'll have 3 soon!

Liv hates having her hair done but is starting to understand why it's so fun for me. And Adam actually likes it.

Not sure what was going on here - super random.

Our Embry countdown that we started at 50 days! I can't believe we're so close! And I don't know why it's orange and green and as non girly as possible - I just happened to have that color paper on hand.

Conference Fun

At first, the kids were super excited about conference because of how much we talked it up! So here they are Saturday morning with their "Yay for Conference" expressions!

Livy was having fun drawing pictures during the sessions. The first one is her and Aunt Amy and the second one is her and Pata standing on a balloon together because it was his birthday. Hilarious!

Here we are enjoying a matching game with the Prophet and Apostles. Livy was getting really good at it by herself! She thought it was so funny that President Uchtdorf was talking on the T.V. at the same time that she got a match with his face. :)

Here we are during the last part of the last session. Also, how cute is this pic of these two? Livy took this one! You would think the kids were still loving it by the end - but unfortunately no. Livy kept saying - "These guys are talking forever!" However, during our testimony meeting that night, she did talk about the prophet and apostles - so there was some sort of success from Saturday and Sunday! :)
