I love Livy!

Livy is so freaking hilarious lately. I know I say that a lot, but she is constantly changing and getting smarter and it's really fun to watch! Lately she's been the rule enforcer/bad words police. It's been... fun?

Last night during her bath, Matt squirted her with a squirt gun and she yelled, "No, Dad! We don't shoot people! We only shoot animals!"

While she was going potty the other day, she told Matt: "Daddy we don't drink poop, it's yucky! And we don't eat pee!" So random, but I'm glad she knows it. :)

We were going to this bounce place the other night and she yelled, "Mom, I'm so... EXCITED!!!" It was so cute to hear her express excitement.

There are three events that this little girl is super excited about:
1. Going to school when she's big

2. Getting baptized - she always changes what age she'll get baptized. Yesterday it was three, sometimes it's eight or nine. But she sure is excited.

3. Getting her pink gun. Thanks, Daddy...

Loves dancing and having dance parties with Uncle Drew

Livy's duty as the bad words police: She will yell at anyone who says "oh my gosh" and "shut up." She doesn't care who it is. But then she tries to get away with saying them by first saying, "Mom, we don't say oh my gosh and shut up. We don't say that." She thinks she's so sneaky! So we told her that we don't say the words EVER - we just say, "We don't say bad words."

I'm amazed at how often I say Oh my gosh. I'm also amazed at how much attention she pays to everything I say so that she can hopefully catch me saying a naughty word! Ha! One time we told her we were going to wash her mouth out with soap if she says bad words and she laughed at us and said, "No that's yucky! Soap goes in your hand!" We just started laughing and then explained that it's suppose to be gross so you don't say it!

She fell asleep on our couch and I kid you not, in her sleep she started saying, "Don't say bad words!"

While we were in CO, Nana did a lot of cool hairstyles on Livy. But by the end of the week, once she saw Nana coming at her with a pick (which she called fork) Livy would start yelling - "No, Nana! I just wear it down! It's pretty!" Haha - so hilarious.

Also, Nana was loving having Liv at home, not just to play dress up and do her hair every day, but to give her a voice lesson every day. Livy was LOVING IT!!! My mom showed her off to all of her students. It was so cute! Livy totally loved singing for anyone she could!

Funny little story:

Livy spilled these teeny beads one day and before I could get up to clean it - I looked over and she was sweeping them up and then put it in the garbage. I finished up with the big broom and she continued to help with her little green one. After she was completely done cleaning up she put her little broom next to where I keep mine so she'll have it there for the next spill :)

Changes! Ch-ch-changes!

Even though Adam is only 8 months - he is so massive! So we decided that a big change needed to happen to the carseat situation! Instead of get another carseat for Adam, we got those weird booster things for Liv which are SO MUCH EASIER! And lighter! Love it!

Here they are both in the van. Once we actually started driving - Adam was ALL SMILES. He just kept looking at me and Matt and getting so excited that he could see us! Love that boy! Livy started saying she wanted to be a baby again and take back her old carseat, but it only lasted a second and then she embraced being a big girl!

We had another random change in our house. We scored this desk off KSL for $7 and we decided we would fix it up.

Single Mom Parenting with some Pumpkin Carving

While we were in CO, Matt was there for the beginning and end - but I stayed with the kids by myself for the majority of the week. So I decided to take on pumpkin carving with just the two kiddlies while everyone else was apparently busy doing something... The pictures are pretty hilarious.

Here we are all smiles and excited for our adventure!

Then Livy found out what pumpkin guts were and became quite disgusted and Adam, on the other hand, was upset that he could touch them.

So I did what I had to do to get them to calm down long enough for me to carve this puppy (without a little carving knife) I stuffed their faces with food - mainly sugary treats.

My dad could NOT figure out what it was. He asked me of it was something - I can't remember exactly what he said - but it was old and nerdy whatever it was. Oh 50-year-old old people!

After Drewbee's wedding in UT, the next night they had their second reception in CO so I flew with my mom and the kids while Matt had to drive back with my dad and brother. It was pretty intense - we had to leave for the airport at like 5 in the morning. It was awful. I was so scared of how I would make it through the airport with the kids and how they would be on the plane - but it was ridiculously easy! Yay for awesome kids!

This stroller made it super easy to get through security, luckily. As did my mom's help, of course. I'm terrified to ever fly alone with two little ones.

I'm so happy that it's 5:45 in the morning! I obviously did not share the enthusiasm hence the lack of picture.

Livy kept herself busy putting the tray up and down. I'm sure the person sitting in front of her was loving it.

I'm Finally Ready to Talk About it...

So this isn't anything super serious, but it's a memory that I want to remember and it happened like 6ish months ago. It was SO EMBARRASSING that I didn't want to talk about it to anyone or blog about it to remember it. But now that so much time has passed - I can appreciate the hilarity of everything that happened.

So let me set up the story. Adam was super teeny still so I was still experiencing crazy post-pregnancy hormones. And Livy was potty trained-ISH. Super huge emphasis on the ish part. I was finally comfortable enough to leave the house with her and semi-confident that she would tell me when she needed to go, but I still had the toilet in the car for any craziness.

SO, my wonderful friend, Shara, was in town (in CA) with her two little girls who are both around a year older than Adam and Livy. So I called her up and we decided to be brave moms and load all of the kids in the van and take them to a little store and then the park. So I get to Shara's house and I was telling her how excited I was about Livy's potty training awesomeness and then Livy even went to the bathroom when we got there with Shara. Then we're sitting there talking and 5 minutes later Shara looks at Livy and tells me she's completely wet. What the!?! Instead of peeing all the way, she saved some for her pants and of course it got on the floor at her house. Awesome. But it's okay, we get everything cleaned up and we're all good. So for some reason, we decide that it's still a good idea to go on our adventure...

So we get to the place after a 25 minute drive. I made Livy pee in her little potty before we got in there and then we realized that we only have one single stroller. So we get crazy and put her two girls in one and I put tiny Adam in a front pack thing and I hold Livy's hand. So we're feeling okay - it's kind of a small store with limited space but we still decide to go in.

So we're looking around and Livy found a little toy to play with and then I come back to her after a minute and there is a huge puddle on the floor next to her. I was horrified, but CONVINCED that it was her sippy because she was wearing pants. I mean, right??? Her pants should have just been soaked - there was no way there was enough to drip down and actually make a puddle. And of course, right as I realize this has happened, Adam starts crying and a worker finds us there with the puddle. She asked me if it was pee and I was like, "No - it's just the sippy!" (I was living in denial - looking back - I really REALLY want to believe I wasn't lying and that I didn't make that poor worker clean up my kid's PEE - but I honestly don't know. Her pants were soaked and I was starting to feel like I was slowly drowning in little kid nonsense. So I found what I wanted to get there right after that and I hurry and purchased the book and then got Livy out of there - who had started screaming at this point.

So I get out to the car with Livy, screaming Adam and one of Shara's kids while she finished up. I got Livy into the van and now she had POOPED in her underwear! What!?! Are you kidding me! Then the poop started getting everywhere in the car and I went into panic mode. We were onto our last pair of emergency underwear and pants. So Livy went back on her little potty while I was cleaning out her gross underwear - which I just decided to throw away - and then while I'm furiously cleaning out my car and getting Livy to go potty - on both sides of my car - two cars are trying to park there.

So I start feeling even more stressed while Adam is crying, little Kaylee is going through my purse and telling me how much she likes gum :) and poor Livy is scooting her potty over and sitting under the dashboard all crouched on her potty so I could close the door. I finally got everything cleaned up and Shara came out and we decided to go to a nearby park while I was almost in tears from feeling so stressed and embarrassed and then later they turned into tears from laughing while I recounted the whole thing to Shara at the park and we just laughed at my many MANY misfortunes that day all within like 2 hours.

On my way home from dropping Shara off, I called Matt and almost started crying, but as I started telling him about every horrible thing happened - I just started laughing. It was so ridiculous! Now I can just laugh - luckily my crazy rough mommy days don't happen very often. But that is still the hardest day yet. I like to live in denial and believe that that's as rough as it's ever going to get :) I sure do love these crazy kids though!

This is Halloween, Everybody Scream!

We celebrated Halloween at my parents' this year during our recovery week after the wedding. Livy was in heaven at Nana and Pata's. Matt had to go home to work during the week but surprised us by coming out for the weekend so he could see the kids all dolled up for Halloween. So we went to 2 trunk or treats so that Matt could see one.

Here she is after nails, hair and make up. She was LOVING grandma's make up job. Also, I learned that doing upside down braids on the back of a two-year-old's head is very difficult. Of course, afterward my mom told me I could just lay her on her stomach and make it easier - Where were you 20 minutes ago, Mom!!!

Hey, Hobbes. He was chillin with all of the ladies who were falling in love with him all night. It's hard not to. He's freaking cute.

After I took Liv's sleeves and shoes off - she became a dancing maniac! These were some of her favorite dance moves.

Then she totally started bossing all of the other little girls around and telling them when and how to dance. I can't believe older kids listen to her. We're working on her bossy pants habit.

Then poor Liv got stung by a bee!!! It was the weirdest thing. She came over and was whining, not really crying, about bees being over where she was dancing and so she sat with me for a while. Then like a half hour later, she said, "Mom, the ladybug stung me!" And she held up her hand. I felt so bad! She started to almost cry so instead I asked, "The ladybug peed on you???" And she started laughing and then told everyone that a ladybug peed on her hand... Good thing she isn't allergic. Another little kid got stung 12 times - so I guess we were lucky!

Livy became quick BFF's with this little girl. I'm still not sure what her name is, but she and Livy danced the night away and walked through the costume parade together.

Trunk or Treat Take 2: At my parents' old ward

We stepped it up from princess to queen on the second night. This is her "princess hands" pose by the way.

She was feeling very photogenic and kept asking me to take pictures of different poses. Adam was not picking up on the photogenic vibe. I like to think he's calling her out on her pretend niceness towards him. "Yeah right, you're all hugs! You're usually pushing me to the ground!!!" (That's Adam talking in case I'm being really confusing right now - which is usually the case)

Going around with Daddy. When we got there, we found out we came at the end - which turned out kind of perfect. Livy went straight to the trunk or treating and then we left after she hit one row of cars. We all got our fill.

Some people were out of candy by the time we got there, but they thought Liv was so cute that they stole some of their kid's candy to give to her. Ha!

Liv had SO MUCH fun handing out candy on Sunday night. She would scream every time the doorbell rang and run as fast as she could to the door. So cute. After she handed out each piece she would say "Happy Hoween!"
