Happy Bday/Father's Day, Babe!

Matthew turned the big 2-8 this year! I think he pulls it off well, even though he's basically 30 :) Luke's family was able to celebrate with us and the kids were so excited!

I also made him the best cake ever - I'm pretty proud!Do you like the ghetto 28? It's a chocolate cake mix with chocolate pudding mixed in. Then there's peanut butter icing and chopped up reese's in between the two layers. Then I frosted it with whipped cream and put chopped up reese's and heath bar on top. It's AMAZING and so moist!

So first it was Father's Day and then the next day it was Matt's bday - so for both occasions - his parents, my parents and I chipped in to buy this little beauty...
He'll probably tell you that this is his best b-day yet! People keep asking me what kind of gun it is and I keep telling them - I don't know. A big, heavy one?

Anyway, Matt's a fan of making lists for me so here is his...

Top 10 reasons why my husband is better than all other husbands

1. He lets me sleeps in and takes the kids when he's home in the mornings - keeper!
2. When I'm getting too crazy he'll moon me to lighten the mood haha
3. He's very thoughtful and always picks up on the little things that are important to me (So what if that line is from Scrubs - it's true!)
4. He's getting a lot better at reading my mind!
5. He supports me when I'm gone all the time for my church calling
6. He's really hot
7. He'll shave his beard for me even though it's his most prized possession
8. He listens to my crazy stories and pretends to show whatever emotion he should be showing to make me happy
9. He knows how to help me calm down when I'm feeling overwhelmed or stressed.
10. He appreciates me and leaves little notes for me when he has to leave really early in the morning.

Love you, Babe! I can't even imagine where I'd be or what I'd be doing without you! Every night in my prayers I tell Heavenly Father how grateful I am to be with you!

Park City Part 1: Obsession

So last week Matt and I were able to escape all our cares and join in the fun at the annual Wiseman Family reunion. This year it was at Park City which was incredibly convenient!

Adam and Livy had so much fun reconnecting with their CA cousins they don't get to see very often. They didn't mind seeing Aunt Amy either. :) They were all obsessed with her!

Gabrielle is Livy's only girl cousin and she LOVES her!! Livy followed her around everywhere she went and they did everything together! It was so cute.

Begin Livy obsessed with Gabrielle sequence:

They loved having matching hair!

So Adam started out the trip by giving everyone this crazy glare:

He would not stop, but by the end of the trip he was obsessed with Max who is his cousin closest to him in age. It was so funny!

It's too bad these guys don't live by each other. They'd be best friends!

Park City Part 2: Play Time

Pool Time

This is what we got to do most of the time. It was wonderful!

Also, Adam freaking loves the water. He kept trying to jump in the pool! His no fear attitude = my loss of sanity.

Liv's hair in this one is too awesome.

Alpine Slide Extravaganza

Matt's parents paid for us to play on all the rides that were conveniently locatedright next to where we stayed - it was perfect!

Poor guy was too little to ride anything, but he slept for most of it and during the short time he was awake he was surrounded by millions of little rocks - so I don't think he felt left out at all!

Mainstreet Fun

The kids were all SO excited about riding a bus!

We freaking did it!

So, my mom and I ran a HALF MARATHON!!! 13.1 freaking miles. It was amazing! Seriously, this is probably the first goal I've ever set for myself and followed through on, thanks to my mom. After our 10k in March, I felt like throwing myself into a ditch - it was the worst experience ever. But after the half marathon, I felt awesome! I wasn't dying! After we crossed the finish line I didn't want to throw myself on my stomach on the street - I was so surprised!

It was the best half marathon we could have ever picked. It was slightly downhill most of the time, there was a breeze hitting us in the back which was awesome, and the weather was PERFECT! Not too hot with a slight breeze.

The morning was the only rough part. We had to leave my house at 3:30 AM to go to Provo where we rode a shuttle to the starting point. We got there around 4:00 and froze to death for two hours. There were these little fires around, but they were teeny. People kept climbing up the mountain in search of branches and whatnot. Our particular fire came pretty close to burning the entire mountain. For real.

Can you spot me? We were running with 2,000 other people and that's not including the other couple thousand running the full marathon that were catching up/passing us!

Here we are. So close to that line! I totally got a burst of energy and sprinted to the end. But the last 3 miles of the marathon are the toughest mentally for sure. It gets the hardest when you can actually see the finish line at mile 12.

A little after-run stretching. There were massage therapists but am I the only person that thinks it's disgusting to be massaged when you're super sweaty??? SICK!

Here's Matthew, my biggest supporter who made this possible.

We got medals for finishing within a certain time. Our official time was 2:31:21 - I was so surprised!!! I thought I would be more around 2:35-3 hours. I was so pleased! However, it was crazy to see full marathon runners pass us and finish before us. That was INSANE.

My favorite kids. They were proud of me. I was happy.

Climing Rocks!

Last weekend our friends, the Tophams, invited us to go rock climbing - a first for Matt and I! It was so fun! The kids were in heaven.

Matt was a natural.

This is Adam's happy place - surrounded by an unlimited supply of rocks.

The girls were having so much exploring up the mountain.

They even made beds out of rocks. It was hilarious.

Then Maliya and Livy got turns to climb. It was so cute! Livy was actually a good little climber! I attempted climbing, but I was HORRIBLE. Listen, I didn't know how bad your freaking hands hurt! :)

Adam SO happy - he heard water and got so excited - it was hilarious.

This is a video of Liv when she was flying - hilarious!

Splish Splash

Today it was FINALLY warm enough to get the water works going for the kids to play in. Our community has a pool but I'm not taking that on with just me and 3 kids. Plus Adam is dangerously in love with water - there is no fear of drowning! Anyway - Matt and I got this little splashy hose thing for the kids on our row to play with. It looked really flimsy - but it turned out to be perfect for the little kiddlies!

Adam gets out of control excited when he sees water - but this is the result of actually coming into contact with it...

Jake was so happy. I love his face in this one.

Here are most of the kids in this pic. These guys love playing with each other everyday.

Since he wouldn't run through the water - he chose to kick back in his chair/hammock.

I didn't get many pics of Liv because she was LOVING the water (and being put in numerous time outs for whining) but here she is with her swimsuit and glasses. She's already tan after one day of being outside - so jealous of her olive skin that she got from Matt!

The Adam-Lizzy Love Affair

(I know some of the pics are blurry - but I love them!)

So the other day, Adam was chasing Lizzy down the walkway and he finally caught up to her, started hugging her, and then they both started kissing each other with open mouths. It was HILARIOUS! We were all laughing SO HARD! So Adam has had his first make-out at 15 months. I don't know how I feel about it :)
