Fun with Family

All of my family was here with us last weekend for Adam's blessing and it was so nice to have all of us in one place. It's the first time that's happened out here in CA.

We went to Red Robin for dinner when they got here. Here's Livy's face after Drew got her to taste her first lemon. Later we had them sing Happy Birthday to Livy - it was hilarious.

No neck

Here's Adam chillin with Grandma. This kid LOVES to be held. He refuses to chill in the swing. Like Matt and I could produce a chill child - we've accepted the fact that all our kids are going to be freaking intense.

Neither of these two knows what "Smile!" means

This father-son nap on our comfy chair has become a daily occurrence.

So here is the awesome cake Matt and I made. It was our practice run to see if it would work for Livy's party. Turns out it didn't, but we were sure proud of ourselves which is apparent by my two thumbs up that I gave it.

And here are some awesome Adam faces...

Look at that chunky hand!

Adam's Blessing

Adam's blessing was this past weekend. We were lucky to have almost all of our family here with us. This little boy is definitely loved!

How freaking cute is his little tux? Thank you, Mom.

We love group shots!

Here are some awesome pics on the car ride home from Drew's phone. Why can't we catch his cute little smile on our nice camera!!!

Livy's Birthday Take 2

So we waited to have a big celebration for Liv's birthday until both of our families were in town for Adam's blessing. Livy loved it! This was her third birthday cake and fourth time being sung to - I think we're setting the birthday expectations a little too high... oh well.

Here's the whole fam-damily. What a handsome group. Also, Max is a little confused as to who's holding him...

3rd set of candles she's blown out - she's quite the pro now

"Nana" and "Shewwie"

They all seem very excited about the cake...

The bigger the bite, the better! Our kid doesn't mess around when it comes to eating cake and ice cream.

He's MY brother!!!

Why we love Spring in CA!

Hooray for awesome weather! Matt was washing off the car and Livy was loving the random squirts from the hose so we decided to bust out her cute little swimsuit. She was in heaven!

Picture of the Week, Maybe even Year...

Matt hates this pic and doesn't want me to put it up because he thinks it makes him look ugly - I think it's hi-FREAKING-larious! I love this baby!

Livy turns 2!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LIVY LOU!

Here's Livy in the morning. We put balloons in her room while she was sleeping and she woke up screaming, "Daddy! Bayoons! Bayoons!"

So, since my mom has bought Livy way too many huge things (a car, a tent with tunnels, a kitchen, and a scooter for this birthday), we decided to get a ton of $1 presents so that she'd have a lot of things to open and because we're running out of room here for anything huge! She loved opening the presents.

And I'm singing! (Elf)

This $3 present is her favorite so far! She LOVES it. However, she got a little carried away and got her hair tangled in it and got a huge knot in her hair. We had to cut it out, but luckily you can't really tell where it is...

Sweet birthday princess crown that lights up. It's also the most uncomfortable crown ever made.

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to.

Opening another birthday package from Nana.

Are you loving the matches for candles right now? Because I am. We actually had candles when we sang to her at Matt's brother's house. So she did have legit candles for one celebration.

These are cupcake ice cream cones that Matt and I attempted to make. The book made it sound SO EASY - that was false. But we were able to save two of them...

Sweet face, Matt. You guys are really good at eating cupcakes.

In the past two years, Livy has learned how to...

*pee on the potty (we're still perfecting the pooping)
*count to eleven
*form sentences (Here are a few: What are you doing? What are you trying to do? I want to eat something! Adam's crying! I want it! I'm hungry! Don't push me! I watch Nemo! What is that? I touched it.)
*sing songs (Twinkle Little Star, I am a child of God, Disney Playhouse Goodbye Song, Happy Birthday)
*say hilarious words (woops! woopies! Oh man! BLECH!)
*copy everything you or the T.V. says
*ride her bike
*and many more that I can't think of right now.

Potty Training: Day 3

We made it alive through Day 3!! It's really been the biggest success and we are so proud of our little one. Yesterday we were able to leave the house and she held it the entire time while running errands. Then we decided to take her to the park because she's been cooped up in the house. After the park, she peed in her potty that we took with us and we got through the whole afternoon accident free. She even pooped in her potty!!! She had to have me hug her while she got it out because is was so tough (so sad) - but she did it! Unfortunately, the day ended with her first accident in two days. I was gone last night and Matt was taking care of both kiddlies and she pooped again but in her underwear - she doesn't like Matt to be close when she poops - it's funny. But we're still super excited! We'll just be working on the poop part for a little while. I feel like I just said poop a lot...

Potty Training: Day 2

S-U-C-C-E-S-S!!! Zero accidents today! Livy peed on the potty all day long! It was great! She did wet the bed this morning, so we'll see how tonight goes. I'm determined not to use another diaper ever again, but we'll see. And she never did poop today, so hopefully that happens tomorrow. But we're so happy! We're going to try to actually leave the house tomorrow... wish us luck!

Happy Easter!

Here they are on Easter morning. They scored quite the loot from the Easter Bunny! Livy, of course, loved the plastic eggs more than anything else in her basket...

Livy's First Colored Eggs!

Livy got to color eggs with her BFF, Cos. It was her first time and she did so well! She didn't even break one egg! She was so gentle - a side we've never really seen from this mini-maniac. It was so cute.

The anticipation was killing them!

Here we are working really hard to keep things under control. It was a lot easier than I expected.

Livy loved putting the eggs in. She didn't care to decorate them with stickers or anything - she just loved putting them in random colors over and over again.

They were very proud of their work.

Afterwards, they both got to have their very first candy necklaces! They were in heaven.

So gross. But I am proud that she appreciates candy necklaces as much as her mommy :)

We've hit the month marker!

Adam is already a month old! It's insane how fast it has flown by. It's crazy how much he changes almost daily. We wake up every morning and we almost don't even recognize him. He's starting to get quite the chubby cheeks and legs. He's already grown out of all of his newborn clothes and even some of his 0-3 month stuff. He's still crazy alert whenever he's awake and has started smiling and talking to us. He's also started balding and looks like a little old man. Poor guy. My favorite thing about this little one is that he lets me eat Chipotle!!! Livy would get so pukey after I ate it, but this kid enjoys the spicy milk :)

What we've been up to lately...

Lots of sleeping - for Adam, anyway.

Watching movies in awesome tents that Daddy sets up for us - mainly Monsters vs. Aliens and Shrek 2

Chillin with our kids. Side note: The other day, I was alone with them and they were both screaming at me and I looked at both of them and had the sudden realization that I am completely responsible for both of these kids and I have to do something (really soon) to make them both happy again. It was so funny, it was like an out of body experience. I wasn't nervous or going crazy, I was just like - these two kids are screaming at me and I need to do something about this. Huh. Just a funny mommy moment I guess.

Bonding with our baby.

Continually learning how to be soft. I feel like Adam's saying "Help me!" with his eyes.

And hunting. Side note: This was Matt's very first hunting trip! Unfortunately, the coyotes forgot to show up, but he loved it anyway.
