So I want to write this story down so I don't forget it - but you can skip to the bottom if your only in this for the pics!
So we have some good friends, the Matthews who've appeared on the blog before, that offered to take us to the airport on Christmas Eve Eve (not a typo). Anyway, first of all, it wasn't just a straight shot to the airport, we had to get on Bangerter and pick up Matt from work and then head to the airport. Anyway, on the way there, Matt and I find out that our flight that was suppose to take off at 8:55 p.m. was now scheduled to depart at 3:00 a.m. BLEH!
Anyway, we get to the airport and the Matthews offer to keep Alivia in the car and wait for us to check our bags and then take us to downtown Salt Lake with them and join them in their fun adventures. So we check everything and then they come pick us up and we all go to dinner and to see the lights. Meanwhile, we find out our flight has now been changed to 5:50 a.m. Our amazing friends offer to drive us home, but we figure it's just a waste of time, so then they dropped us off at the airport.
After getting through security and everything it was about 10:30. We were NOT looking forward to sleeping in the airport with Livy, but we had no choice. So we get to our gate and we see that there is another flight to Denver taking off right then and so I told Matt to go ask and see if there was anyway to get on it.
So Matt goes and talks to the customer service guy and he said that there may be a chance if they finish boarding and find that some people didn't make it. So he put us on standby and told us to go wait by the gate. There were two others trying to get on that flight and they had four openings! We were the very last two to get on the flight!
But the story isn't over yet. So thanks to those Southwest people, we got onto the flight and then since we were the very last two, we figured we wouldn't be sitting by eachother. But then, a guy saw us and moved so that we could sit next to each other! IT WAS A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE! We were extremely grateful for all the kindness and divine intervention that took place that night. It all worked out perfectly. We were able to spend a nice night with some friends and then we got to the airport and through security at the PERFECT time. We realize we were very blessed!
Anywho here's some awesome pics taken with our new camera - the Digital Rebel SXI - the coolest present EVER. Thanks mom, and thanks dad for pretending like it was okay that Mom got us that...
Livy loves her tounge lately. It's so funny.
I meant to focus on Livers, but it's kind of funny how it turned out. Livy was a bit overwhelmed with the massive amount of presents tossed to her this morning. Apparently, she's still trying to figure out the peek-a-boo doll. She also got an entire library of books! Woo!
And here's what we got Ky - matching Homer pajamas - hilarious!
