The Deliciousness that is: Apple Hill

We made it to Utah alive and safe! And we finally have internet! Woohoo! Hopefully it will distract me from the funk I've been in since we got here. I'm missing my life back in CA filled with amazing people, both friends and family. This morning I'm missing some friends that became family:

We are supposed to be at their house tonight for the Ruggles-Wiseman Thursday Night Line-up. But we won't be and it makes me sad. I tried to explain to Liv the other day that we lived far from her little BFF, but she didn't take it too well. I'm not taking it so well either. I guess we had gotten too comfortable and satisfied with our lives there. Heavenly Father knew it was time to shake things up so we could continue to learn and progress.

Anywho, I'm trying to catch up on the happenings with the Wisemans. A couple weeks ago, we went to Apple Hill and it was DELICIOUS. The apple doughnuts and juice are the best treat ever!

Everyone was loving Apple Hill.

Livy also had the time of her life with her first pony ride! It was the cutest thing ever. She was the smallest person there and ended up on the biggest pony. It was so funny! The whole time she kept yelling "Yee-how" (now haw - how) and "Giddy up!"

Livy was scared at first, but once she saw Cos get on one - she immediately hopped on with complete confidence.

We had so much fun playing with the kiddlies:

Livy totally prefers Raquel to me now. People always assume that Liv belongs to Raquel and Cos belongs to me. If only our children weren't little clones of their fathers...

Thrill seeker. Love those legs!

Cute Mommy-Daughter Moment

His smile is the best.

These two fight, play, and love each other like sisters.

The men tending the boys... Doing this requires sunglasses, folded arms, and a sweet stance if you want to look manly. They look like wannabe bouncers. Apparently Marc just said something HILARIOUS.

Later that night we had a ward activity that was Western-themed. It tied in perfectly with Liv's first pony ride earlier that day!

I mean, how sweet is her outfit? She's obsessed with this hat.

You can't see it, but Adam is wearing a sweet shirt with two guns on it that says Lil' Pistol.

Who else is singing to themselves, "Wanted. Dead or Alive!" Thank you, Bon Jovi.

Best Buds with Awkward Smiles - all they're thinking right now is: "Mommy/Alexis promised me gum if I'd smile!!!"

Adam's First Sick Day :(

Here's Adam when he's perfectly healthy and normal:
And here's my boy with a sinus AND ear infection:
I had no idea the little bugger was in so much pain! He's so happy and content all of the time. I took him to the doctor because he has a nasty cough that, Matt kept telling me, sounded like the croup! (Like he would know) Anyway, the doctor checked his lungs and everything was fine and then found a serious amount of puss in this ear:With Livy I was ALWAYS nervous about her getting an ear infection, because there is really no way of knowing, but then she never got one - so I wasn't even thinking about it with him, especially because he was showing NONE of the signs. The only thing that has changed lately is that he has been fussy when we put him to sleep and he started waking up during the night. But this is normal for healthy kids - so I was completely surprised. It makes me feel sad that he's been hurting and I had no clue!

Luckily, he has his big sister to help take care of him!

The first prescribed medicine for my kids. Livy has never needed prescribed medicine.

Funny side story: Livy demanded pigtails today for her hair. I don't know why it was so funny, she just looked hilarious. That's all.

Oh yes, Some Accessories!!!

Funny little story... I had to get to church before Matt and Livy last week so all I said to Matt was - she needs a bow in her hair and tights! You don't have to do anything fancy - just make her look presentable! Anyway, they were running a little late and I was growing more and more nervous and then they finally walked in and here was what Livy looked like:
Matt totally accessorized her outfit! How cute is that! Next step: learning how to french braid!

Adam's First Hair Cut!

This was a biggie for us, I mean, we haven't ever cut Liv's hair yet! We got lucky that it came in looking layered and not like a weird mullet! Anywho, the boy's hair was getting a little lengthy so we decided to give him his first of MANY buzzes. He was such a champ!

So excited for his new do!

I mean, we were surprisingly taking off a lot of hair. Matt was a little scared to buzz on top due to the soft spot. But Adam's still alive and well. No worries.
The big reveal
It looks like he lost a ton of dark hair, but now it looks light - my kids' hair changes color.

Baking Bonanza

Since we've added Cake Boss to our favorite shows, Matt has decided that his dream job would be to become a baker. Anyhoo, I have this amazingly delicious recipe for 30 minute dinner rolls that Matt is pretty much obsessed with, but has always refused to help with because he's terrified of kneading dough. Anyway, he was feeling a bit adventurous the other day and decided he would try.
I mean, the facial expression says it all in this picture. Side note: Wiseman boys HATE touching food with their hands, so this was a pretty big feat for Mateo.

Look at him knead! Go Babe go!!

His little dough baby.

He was a very good student. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the finished product because we ate them all too fast... Seriously, they're that good!

Time Out with Daddy

Daddy had his first day alone with both babes last Saturday and here's what the kids looked like:And yes it was game day. Was I a little nervous to leave them alone with him considering the fact that he might just put both of them in a room and shut the door during the game while every now and then just throwing food at them to keep them alive? Just a little. But we all made it alive! After I got home, Matt asked me if I was impressed that he was able to sweep the kitchen while having both kids!!! Umm yeah, super impressed, Babe... But for real, thank you for having the house clean when I got home!

Matt did discover a bag of clothes that I hadn't opened yet with this cute little outfit in it! I was a little sad because this kid has almost grown out of everything! I hate discovering new clothes and they're already too small!

Cutest Hair Ever!

Liv FINALLY let me wave her hair and she looked SO FREAKIN CUTE! I remember my church leader's little girl let her wave her hair once and I thought - I can't wait to do that to my daughter's hair! And that was a good 10 years ago - so when I capitalize FINALLY - I really mean it!
It's getting so long!

Here's what she did when I first said, "Liv, let me take a picture of your hair!" Pure defiance.

Candid Camera

We were watching Livy's cousins last night and all of a sudden we realized they were being SUPER quiet. Well, later we found out why. They were super busy making some sweet videos...

Guess what time it is???

And she's been officially brainwashed. She started chanting this without any prompting!

So once college football season starts, Matt and I have an agreement. He gets the T.V. every Thursday night and every Saturday. Unfortunately, we didn't get the BYU game this last Saturday so we had to settle for Justin.tv. At least that's one upside to moving to Utah - we get to see our cougars live at the stadium!!! Woo!

My Trendy(?) Two-Year-Old

Livy has been rockin' some sweet outfits lately that she has demanded to pick out herself. Now I am not a fashion forward person at all - if I've ever looked trendy - it's because someone else has helped me out - so maybe I just can't recognize the genius of our little fashionista? It is all about these black shoes lately! She wants to wear them with every outfit and refuses to put on any other shoes. Just another fashion statement I guess.

Mr. Break-it then Fix-it

So a couple weeks ago, we're sitting in our van having a dandy old time and all of a sudden our CD player says it's jammed. LAME! So we looked it up on the internet and a lot of people said they had the same problem and that there was NOTHING you could do except pay a load of money to get it fixed. However, there was one commenter who said they took their 6 disc stereo apart and unjammed it and then put it back together and that it wasn't that hard... So instead of listening to the plethora of people who got their stereos replaces, Matt decided to do this:
(Jammed CDs)

After a solid six hours of attempting to get it out of the car and then figure out how to unjam it, Matt heard little springs from inside fly all over and then everything kind of fell apart and that ended the life of our beloved Pioneer 6 disc stereo.

Afterward, Matt researched how much a new one would be to replace it and everything was getting too expensive. So we looked on the internet and found the perfect little stereo for $150 after all was said and done and then Matt said he would just install it himself...

I went along with it because I knew how much redemption meant to him at this point. (May I just add that I had to drive the van with NO STEREO for a solid week with two crazy kids. Livy's version of the ABC's kept getting louder and louder!) Anyhoo, we finally got the stereo and after another solid 6 hours, we now have this little beauty:
Matt has officially redeemed himself! It's actually pretty sweet. It has an Aux port in the front along with a USB port for the iphone/ipod. AND it has bluetooth! I can finally stop breaking the law here! (only to leave this place two weeks later...) Anyway, I'm so proud of Matt! The end.

6 Month Stats

So Sweet. He really is like this most of the time.

My baby is 6-months-old today! So weird and exciting. He's starting the legit crawl today. I'll have to post a video when we catch it on camera. We went to the doctor this week and got his stats and shot. It was sad, but just like his big sister, he cried for a second and was over it. Here are the stats.

Weight: 18.8 lbs. 75%
Height: 25.75 inches 60%
Head Circ.: 45 cm. 80%

All about my little ninja:

*He is a NINJA. He is so quick! He grabs things so fast - you have no idea what even hit you! And it always happens at dinner time. Out of nowhere he grabs the cup of peas and gets his and in it and then touches his face and his entire body in a matter of seconds!
*He is SUPER snuggly. That's what we hear most often about him. He especially likes his snuggle partner, Sis. Mckee, during Sacrament :)
*He loves his sister! She literally rolls around the floor with him and he just giggles away.
*He's the best little eater EVER! I love it. And he doesn't care what the temp. of his food is or what he's eating. He just LOVES to eat.
*He can get water out of a sippy. Livy gave one to him a couple weeks ago and he actually sucked the juice out of it! And it was a hard one - not one of the soft nipple things.
*He's a giggle head. He has the cutest laugh and has started finding things we do funny instead of us just tickling to get the laughs.
*He's chewing on everything he can get his little hand on.
*His fine motor skills are really kicking in lately and he's been picking stuff up on the floor.
*He's a strong little bugger! At the doctor's office, the doctor had to give up checking his hip flexers because he refuse to put his legs down.
*He's so sweet.
*He sleeps through the night. We put him down around 9 or 10 and don't hear from him until 7.
*He's sitting up on his own for like a minute.
*He's easily distracted for right now.
*He HATES when anything is on his face or covering his eyes. I tried to put sunglasses on him the other day and he about lost it.
*He loves eating paper - just like his sister did (ah!)
*He ALWAYS smile when you make eye contact.
*He loves to fall asleep with a blanket touching his cheek.
*He loves to grab his feet.
*He does this really long, weird intake of breath where it sounds like he needs oxygen but it's just how he laughs sometimes. haha

Some Pics

This was his reaction after discovering he had just been pricked with needles. Needless to say, the next face was the same one he had when Livy was holding him at the temple. (See temple post below)

Poor chunk legs with band aids.

I mean look at those rolls.

His first encounter with the grass. Like a true boy, he was loving the grass and dirt. He's going to be gross when he's bigger... I feel like little boys are just so smelly! haha

First swing experience shared with his favorite big sister.
